Kai Cheung, So is currently a practicing barrister under the jurisdiction of Hong Kong and a practicing lawyer in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Mr. So has more than 40 years of legal working experience. Mr. So has a grasp of legal knowledge of Hong Kong, Mainland China and the UK. He is skilled in intellectual property and copyright, shipping and maritime, employment and labor disputes, mediation, civil litigation, criminal litigation and other legal fields.
Mr. So graduated from the University of Wolverhampton, UK and obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 1999. In 2002, Mr. So obtained the qualification of barrister recognized by the High Court of Hong Kong and began practicing law in the same year. In 2008, Mr. So graduated from Renmin University of China; he completed his studies in intellectual property and obtained a master degree in law. Mr. So was later appointed by the Hong Kong Judiciary as a Special Magistrate from 2012 to 2018. He was also appointed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government as a member of the Torture Claims Appeal Board, responsible for reviewing refugee status.
