Guangzhou Appoints First Batch of Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area Lawyers as Part-time Arbitrators
According to a report by Guangzhou Daily on June 16, the Guangzhou Labor and Personnel Dispute Arbitration Commission recently appointed 9 Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area lawyers as part-time arbitrators, integrating the innovative development of labor and personnel dispute mediation and arbitration with the pilot program for Hong Kong and Macao lawyers to practice on the mainland. This marks a new step in advancing the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The appointment enables Greater Bay Area lawyers to leverage their professional advantages of being familiar with the laws of the mainland, Hong Kong, and Macao, establishing a bridge for the integrated development of labor dispute mediation and arbitration among the three regions. Before the appointment, the Arbitration Commission organized pre-employment training in strict accordance with laws and regulations, inviting experts from the Guangdong Provincial Labor and Personnel Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Institute, the Guangdong Provincial Party School, and the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court to teach courses on labor dispute mediation and arbitration theories, practices, and national conditions. After passing the pre-employment assessment, 9 lawyers including Cheng Jiawen, Chen Peiyu, Chen Yunxia, Huang Zhaohong, Jiang Zhongyou, Lin Meifang, Tan Yefengxian, Zhuang Fenglan, and Zheng Jiayin were officially appointed.
